Much like a Plane, a sub-Plane is a bounded (though possibly cosmicially massive) universe that may contain its own set of inhabitants, laws of physics, cosmology and so on.
However, a sub-Plane is usually 'attached' to a larger parent Plane, and by all intents and purposes is a part of it. Because of this it may be possible to travel between a parent Plane and its sub-Planes by means that do not involve entering the Warp. The exact requirements for such travel will depend on the nature of the parent Plane and its sub-Plane.
In a number of Planes, the 'afterlife' that the souls of the living will travel to after death is in fact a sub-Plane.
Notable Sub-Planes[]
Some notable sub-Planes that have appeared in the Multiverse setting include:
- The Other Side (sub-plane of The Mortal Plane)
- The Void (sub-plane of Ithia)
